OPTIMUZ is lead by Er. Manu Mohan who has a wide experience in Large scale projects
in State and abroad. And he is the Certified Building Energy Efficiency Expert (BEEE) to EMC.
Er. Manu Mohan is the team lead of KSECBC awareness committee constituted by
Energy Management Centre Kerala (EMC). EMC is the KSECBC enforcement agency and
State Designated agency (SDA) to Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
Er. Manu Mohan is giving training to the officials in LSGD , other government officials, Industries, Engineering colleges and common public regarding ECBC, KSECBC, ENS & Building Energy efficiency activities

The impact of energy usage on the environment has become evident with the climate change observed
all over the globe. This has led to the formulation of design strategies for reducing energy use worldwide.
In this context, it has become obligatory to optimize the design of buildings both in terms of energy consumption
and the comfort of occupants. To promote the same, India has initiated various regulations and policies.
Govt. of India enacted The Energy Conservation Act in 2001.This led to the establishment of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE) with a mandate to implement the provisions of the Act. BEE and its Committee of Experts after extensive work developed The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC)
as a first step toward promoting energy efficiency in the building sector which recommends minimum
requirements for the design and construction of energy-efficient buildings and their systems
without compromising on the intended functions of the building.
The government of Kerala is keen on the implementation of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) for all
prospective buildings, and has enacted the Kerala State Energy Conservation Building Code Rules 2017 (KSECBC) and
is enforced through Kerala Municipality Building Rules & Kerala Panchayat Building Rules 2019. KSECBC is to provide minimum requirement for the energy – efficiency design and construction of building which are intended to be use for commercial purpose .
